Under the aegis of NALSA Kerala Law Academy Legal Aid Clinic & Services along with KLA NSS in association with District Legal Service Authority is Organising One Week Legal Awareness Programme, LAWOJ 2021 (Law Academy Wings Of Justice) with the intention of training the young lawyers for providing legal awareness to the society in future.
The programme was inaugurated on 20/10/2021 by Hon’ble. Mr.Justice Muhammed Nias C.P., (Judge,High Court of Kerala). The inaugural function was glorified with the presence of Sri.K.Sanil Kumar (Judge, CBI Special Court & Chairman of TLSC), Shri.Shibu Daniel (Subjudge, Principal Subcourt) Adv. Nagaraj Narayanan (Director, KLA), Prof.Hareendran.K (Principal, KLA), Prof.K.Anil Kumar (Professor, KLA).
A quiz competition will be conducted as part of the event on 21.10.2021 on the theme ‘Glimpses of Consumer Protection Act,2019‘ and ‘Talk With a Lawyer’ session with Adv. Narayan Radha Krishnan (Senior Advocate, Consumer Court).
A discussion on ‘Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act 2017’ along with a webinar by Dr.K.P. Kylasnatha Pillay (Senior Advocate,Supreme Court of India) will be held on 22.10.2021 . On 23.10.2021 a webinar by Shri.N.Sheshadri Nadan (Judge, MACT) on ‘The View of Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Act, 2019’ and on 25.10.2021 a webinar by Shri.Shibu Daniel (Sub Judge, Principal Sub Court) on ‘The Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act,2012 will be held correspondingly.
There will be a discussion with Shri.K.Biju Menon (Judge,Family Court) on Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment on 26.10.2021. On 27.10.2021 followed by webinar on Role of legal Aid in promoting ADR by Adv.Bhuvendran Nair.V (Advocate,Mediator,DLSA).
