Publications

The Academy of legal Publications is the publication wing of the Academy. The Academy is publishing the ‘Academy Law Review” continuously for the past 33 years since 1977 without interruption. The Academy Law Review is a refereed research law journal and is acclaimed as one of the best in the country and is published bi-annually.

Two law magazines one in Malayalam titled “Niyamavum Neethiyum” and the other in English titled “New and Views” are published by the Academy. A journal which deals with current legal problems and which would serve the needs of laymen, was considered a necessity. This gave rise to the “News & Views”, the first issue of which was published in October, 1969, under the editorship of Dr. N. Narayanan Nair. Justice P. Govinda Menon released the first issue at a meeting held on 10th October, 1969, at V.J.T. hall, Thiruvananthapuram. Mr. M. Prabha and Mr. M. Sivaram, veteran journalists, spoke on the occasion. The Academy launched the monthly law journal in Malayalam “Niyamavum, Neethiyum” in 1979. This venture, has served as an effective means to bring the common man into closer contact with law. It was a catalyst in the process of making the language of the people and the language of the law, one and the same.
