Kalathil Velayudhan Nair Endowment has been instituted in the memory of Adv. Kalathil Velayudhan Nair, a founder member of the Academy, who has been a tower of strength during our initial period of trials and tribulations. In his sudden demise in 1976, we lost one of our greatest benefactors. A decision to perpetuate his memory by instituting an endowment was taken in 1976 itself by the Governing Council of the Academy. In 1976, at a meeting of the admirers and followers of Kalathil and the well wishers of the Academy, a Committee for this purpose was constituted with Mr. T.N. Upendranatha Kurup (President, Devaswon Board) as Chairman and Dr. N. Narayanan Nair and Mr. N. Rajendran as conveners. The corpus of the endowment has been utilized for instituting a chair for Professorship.
