About us


Law Academy Former Students Association (LAFSA) is an organization of the former students of the Academy. LAFSA is very active and undertakes several activities for continuing legal education. Most of the leading lawyers of almost all the 84 Bars of Kerala are former students of the Academy. The former students include the leaders of most of the Bar like Bar Association Presidents, Secretaries and former office bearers etc and members of the Bar Council of Kerala and India. The Academy provides various benefits to the members of LAFSA and units of LAFSA function in all the 84 court Centers in kerala. The structure of the organization is based on the bye-laws of LAFSA, by which, there is an apex State Committee and various units at the Court Centers. The State President of LAFSA is presently Adv. Thomas Abraham.

The first State Conference of LAFSA was held during July 1992 and elected Adv. S.V. Premakumaran as the first President and Adv. Thomas Abraham as first Secretary of LAFSA. The LAFSA works on its own constitution and undertakes various activities including organizing seminars, on current issues, workshops for continuing legal education and training sessions for judical examinations etc. One of the important seminar undertaken by LAFSA in association with the Academy was the Seminar on Cauvery Water Disputes held on 02.07.1992. LAFSA also conducts a annual get-together dinner every year during March or April in the Academy Campus.
